English Summary

In “Me and the Ecology Bit,” the young narrator Jim is very concerned about ecology. He tries to educate people in his neighbourhood while delivering newspapers on his paper route.

He tells Mr. Williams not to burn leaves because it pollutes the air and advises him to make a compost pile. Mr. Williams complains that Jim’s own compost pile causes “nose pollution.”

At Ms. Greene’s house, Jim asks her to save newspapers and aluminium cans for recycling. She reminds him that he failed to collect them last time and also complains about his dog digging up her yard and littering.
